The ‘Association Paraplégiques Voyages Pour Tous’ allows able and less-able people to meet through trips or leisure activities. The association was created in the Jura by a group of friends, some of whom are disabled, all of whom are passionate about travelling. These friends wished to encourage contact between able and less-able adults and have always thought that such a bringing together of people would lead to a mutual enrichment.
For disabled people:
Nowadays, many options for leisure activities are available however a lack of information or structure still prevent a lot of disabled people from living a fulfilling social life. The association works to promote these activities by trying to take a step back from the limits of what is generally thought possible, by those around us and often by disabled people themselves. The association also seeks to limit the costs as much as possible in order to allow maximum participation.
For able people:
Through the appropriate framework, the association looks to demonstrate that the presence of one or several disabled people in a group does not limit the possibilities available during trips or activities at all. Shared tastes, the same desire to discover a country and its culture, or watching a show together allow real connections to be formed with disabled people. From there, connections are formed through affinity and not through a one group needing help from the other.
